The publishing industry today has undergone some rapid changes from traditional publication into the digital world. For that reason, PT. Gramedia Pustaka as a part of the biggest corporation in Indonesia needs to follow the changes to deliver a better service for customers.

That is why the company has to get a good system to understand more about their customers. Gramedia asked WGS to develop a marketing automation system based on user experience to get a better marketing results. This application aims the optimization and automation based on the user’s working habits.

For example, marketing team’s process of developing an event / campaign usually involves writing down the plan on word processor software, in the end a lot of document are made and scattered. We’re optimizing the process by combining all of these event development process in one application. Auditing and approval are also processed in the application, making the application a versatile all-in software for marketing management.

There is one important role that deals with how things are going well in the application. It’s the admin. Admin handles and monitors the application management from the inside. Admin authenticates users access, monitors activities and get reports from the dashboard, and access all features in the navigation bars.

The interesting features in this application are:

  • Team
    In this page, admin can see all retailers and publishers data to create new Team data, edit saved Team data, and delete Team data
  • Event/Campaign Page
    Admin can see all data about event in this page. Admin roles here are adding new data by creating new event, editing data by editing event data or non-activating event before the event finished, and get event result after receiving notification from the system.
  • Customers
    Admin can see all the customers data, add data, add data tags, edit customer data, delete customer data and search customer data.
  • Manage template
    Here, admin can create email layout or SMS for a certain campaign by choosing available templates in the system.
  • Reporting
    Reports will be displayed in list or chart format. This feature enables admin to know whether the campaign reaches the goal or not.​

WGS developed the web application on laravel version 4.2 dan PHP version 5.6. It runs on top of Ubuntu, Apache Web server, and database MySQL. On the front-end, the application uses HTML5/CSS3, JavaScript, JavaScript Framework and Jquery.
